Who the Hell Goes in a Straight Line?

Sometimes my creativity seems to sneak away from me. There are days when I’m highly motivated but confused about what to do. Today is one of those days!

I’m perfectly willing to admit there’s a little bit of holiday mode in the background right now. Don’t worry, I’ll be taking some time off starting tomorrow. I’ve already shut off my alarms for the morning and it’s likely I won’t be doing very much for a few days. That’s all as it should be. But there’s more to it than that.

I’ve trained myself to be keenly aware of how I feel, what I’m thinking, of my responses to the outside world, of the events that happen around me, of everything that’s going on in and around me in my life. What that means is that even when I get a little confused or stuck like I am today, I go back to my awareness. I still ask why these things are showing up. I still look for clarity and truth in even the smallest of things. So what’s the deal?

The limits on my ability to create are there to remind me of where I am, how far I’ve already come, and in this case, to show me how differently I live now from even a few months ago. I got reminded today as I was questioning this little speed bump, of how much my desire to understand and be aware shifts how I live and what I do when things happen. Today the understanding was relatively simple. The point was to allow me to be aware of my own power and be grateful for my ability to do what I do.

I ask a lot of questions in my work. The workbooks in my courses are filled with questions to make people think. Why is this here? What is this teaching me? Where did this behavior come from? Is this really true? Is this mine? Dozens of questions, much like the ones I ask myself, to get you to consider that maybe whatever the mind is telling you at that moment isn’t really true and that maybe you have another option. Maybe there’s another way to do things. Maybe you don’t have to stay there.

The guidance for me today was to look around and be grateful for the gifts that I’ve been given and I don’t mean material items either. I mean clarity and awareness. They want me to better trust the guidance and the knowledge that I get. It’s not that I don’t trust what I get, but there’s just a whole lot of things that I’m aware of that haven’t happened yet. My awareness is very much in the future. That future could be 10 minutes from now or even tomorrow or next week or 5-years from now, but it is in the future. Sometimes what happens is that because the human hasn’t experienced what it now thinks it knows, it questions whether it’s true or not. The fun part about clairvoyance (the ability to perceive the future) is that sometimes the knowledge is years ahead of the actual event.

What I often say is that I can tell you what’s going to happen if you go in a straight line. Who the hell goes in a straight line? Nobody! But by telling you where you’re going to end up if you keep going in that general direction, you can decide what to do differently, if anything. It gives you control in a way you didn’t have before. Now you can decide consciously where to go and who you need to be to get there. What do I need to heal to create that outcome? Who do I need to be to create that outcome?

Understand what doing that gives you because that’s what conscious healing is. There’s no rabbit hole there. You do the work within yourself to create a specific outcome. You know you can have the outcome because your awareness tells you what the outcome is and that it’s possible. Now you have the ability to decide what you want and do the work that needs to be done to make sure you can be successful in that outcome.

Does that work every time for everything? Nope, mostly because the human experience just isn’t meant to be that easy. But I’ll tell you that this has been my journey now for 7 years. I wanted a specific outcome and everything that I’ve done along the way has been done with that specific outcome in mind. There were lots of smaller things along the way that I wasn’t always aware of. That’s okay. That’s living life and learning as I go or playing both the student and the teacher, something I do quite willingly all the time. There’s nothing wrong with that either. But when we consciously heal in order to achieve a specific outcome, the direction is more guided. If you can trust the awareness and the guidance, life gets a lot smoother.

As I said, it’s still not a perfect system because life still needs to be challenging so that the human experience still has a purpose. But it can be easier than we make it. Being aware of ourselves, of how we’re feeling, and of what we’re thinking, and giving ourselves permission to question all of that, creates more purposeful healing. It also means we’re not doing things unnecessarily. Notice I didn’t get any guidance to heal anything. I got shown something that actually sparked my creativity and caused me to write this. No healing required. That’s what I want to show you. Not everything has to be deep and dark. It does get easier when you allow it to be. Are you willing to allow it to be easier? Or are you still attached to needing a problem to fix?

Stuff is going to happen. It doesn’t necessarily mean I have something to heal or fix. It just means that I need to use my awareness to interpret what’s happening. My awareness is how I decide what I need to do if anything at all. Often I do very little or nothing. Usually, it results in a blog, much like today. There’s nothing to do and there’s definitely no problem to solve. My awareness actually gave me inspiration by putting a speed bump in front of me that gave me something to talk about. Without questioning what was happening I probably wouldn’t have written anything today.

Now that I’m no longer “stuck” I’m going to go do family things!

Merry Christmas everybody!

Love to all.
